Bread is not simply bread – as everyone at the Bread and Strudel Market held in Bressanone/Brixen’s Cathedral square knows. At the centre of the 3-day event are South Tyrol’s various types of trademarked bread. As well as the culinary enjoyment available there’s also a large selection of information about the history and preparation of the breads of the South Tyrol. Visitors to the Bread and Strudel Market can watch the master bakers as they carry out their daily bread production. Those interested in the historical aspects can take a short course and go on a journey into the history of bread making.
